Karen Hellyer is a digital arts educator living and working in the San Francisco Bay Area. Since the late 1980’s, she’s been designing and implementing cutting edge curriculum teaching student artists how to take advantage of technology. She created the first online high school art gallery called “ArtSpace” while teaching at the University of Illinois Laboratory High school in 1993. In 1997, Karen moved to the Bay Area and immediately fell in love with the landscape and culture. She balances her photography with family time and teaching high school digital arts classes at The Bay School of San Francisco.
